A meridian is a point of orientation. For us, that point is Jesus Christ—the foundation of our hope and the direction behind every part of our care.

Every organization begins with a purpose.

Meridian Counseling Associates began with a simple conviction: that the closer we orient our lives toward Christ, the more faithfully we are able to love those He has entrusted to our care.

The name Meridian reflects that conviction. A meridian represents a point of orientation. For us, that point is Jesus Christ. He is the foundation of our hope, the source of our peace, and the One who gives direction and purpose to everything we do.

We believe that as we continually orient ourselves toward Christ, the fruit of that relationship naturally follows. Truth is pursued with humility. Love is expressed through faithful service. Excellence becomes an act of stewardship rather than a pursuit of recognition. And ultimately, whatever good comes from our work, all glory belongs to God.

That conviction shapes every part of Meridian.

It shapes how we care for our clients.

It shapes how we mentor future therapists.

It shapes how we lead, learn, and grow.

It shapes the kind of organization we hope to become.

Loving Our Neighbor

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

As I began building Meridian, I found myself reflecting on Jesus’ command to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Over time, I realized that love is more than compassion—it is the pursuit of another person’s good.

In counseling, that means listening well, caring deeply, continually growing, and striving to provide the highest quality care possible. It means pursuing clinical excellence because every person who entrusts us with their story deserves our very best.

That same conviction extends beyond the therapy room.

I have come to believe that one of the greatest ways we can love our neighbors is by becoming a genuine solution to the problems they face. For us, that means creating a place where people encounter thoughtful, compassionate, clinically excellent care rooted in biblical truth. It also means investing in the next generation of therapists so that many more people may experience that same level of care for years to come.

Excellence as an Act of Stewardship

At Meridian, excellence is never pursued for recognition or comparison. It is pursued because people matter.

We believe every client deserves a counselor who is committed to continual growth, lifelong learning, humility, and thoughtful clinical practice. We believe every therapist deserves mentorship that challenges, encourages, and equips them to serve others well.

Excellence is simply one of the ways we seek to faithfully love our neighbor.

Why Mentorship Matters

When I graduated as a new therapist, I knew I wanted to help people. I also knew I wanted to build a private practice that honored both clinical excellence and my Christian faith.

What I lacked wasn’t passion—it was guidance.

I longed for someone who would invest in me, challenge me, encourage me, and help me grow into the therapist I hoped to become. Much of that journey I had to navigate on my own.

Meridian exists, in part, to become the mentor I once needed.

By investing deeply in therapists, we multiply our ability to care for others. Every clinician who grows in wisdom, competence, humility, and character has the opportunity to impact hundreds of lives throughout a lifetime of practice. In that way, mentorship becomes another expression of loving our neighbor.

Fellow Travelers

One of the values most important to Meridian is humility.

We do not believe we have “arrived.”

While our roles may differ, our deepest need is the same—we all stand in need of God’s grace.

Every person who walks through our doors is created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, compassion, and respect. Whether someone comes seeking counseling during a difficult season of life or guidance as a developing therapist, our desire is to walk alongside them with humility, truth, and genuine care.

Meridian Counseling Associates is more than a counseling practice.

It is a community built upon the conviction that when Christ remains our point of orientation, truth, humility, love, and faithful service naturally follow.
